Job Title: Parking Services Technical Officer 

Permanent 37 hours per week 

Salary – One Team Band 6 - £32,061- £34,434 per annum  

Location - The role will primarily be based at the Coptfold Road Car Park in Brentwood but, as a ‘One Team’ role, you will be required to travel to Rochford District Council.

About the Role: 

Working within the Parking Services Team the Parking Services Officer [Technical] will be a key role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the parking estates for both Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council. This role will ensure the car parks are maintained and presented to a high standard and the successful candidate will lead on ensuring health and safety standards are met and maintained.  

About the candidate: 

We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, a hands-on approach, and the ability to work independently while liaising effectively with contractors and partner organisations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, supporting enforcement activity, and contributing to service improvements across both councils so an attention to detail will also be essential.  

The role involves a wide range of tasks—from inspecting and maintaining parking equipment and facilities, to implementing parking suspensions and responding to customer queries via intercom and therefore you will have a can-do attitude that is flexible to the task in hand. 

The successful candidate will oversee all daily aspects of facility repairs and maintenance with the parking services including regular and schedules inspections. They will liaise with contractors over repairs and partner organisations to ensure a smooth service delivery. In addition, they will also oversee the maintenance of equipment in relation to Brentwood Borough Council’s Shop Mobility Scheme.
