About the role

Zest Education is seeking a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Lichfield. This part-time role, working 8:30am to 12:00pm Monday to Friday, offers the opportunity to provide consistent support to a child within the school’s Reception class.

As the school continues to create an inclusive and nurturing environment, it requires a Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships and help young learners flourish during the early stages of their education.

About the Role

As a Reception 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil throughout the morning sessions. Not only will you help them access learning activities, but you will also encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement with their peers.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with the class teacher and wider support staff to ensure the child receives the support they need to make progress both academically and socially. Because consistency is key, the school is looking for someone reliable, patient, and committed to making a positive difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the class teacher to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Monitor progress and share observations with relevant staff.
  • Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience working with children in an Early Years, school, or childcare setting.
  • Demonstrate a nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Show initiative while also working successfully as part of a team.
  • Understand the importance of consistency and routine for young learners.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
