Mobile Plant Fitter

Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 per annum DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a growing team, responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a range of small and mobile plant machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plant Fitter or experienced Mechanical Engineer looking for a permanent position offering a competitive salary, company van and fuel card, overtime opportunities and ongoing training.

The Role

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard and remains safe, reliable and ready for use.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across a range of mobile plant equipment
• Servicing and completing routine preventative maintenance
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out emergency repairs where required
• Carrying out inspections and identifying potential mechanical issues
• Ensuring all machinery is safe, compliant and fit for operation
• Working independently across multiple sites
• Maintaining accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance work

Equipment You Will Work On

You will ideally have hands-on experience working with a range of small plant and construction equipment, including:

• Disc cutters
• Generators
• Pumps
• Trench rammers
• Mini diggers
• Dumpers

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in plant, construction equipment or mechanical maintenance
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience servicing and repairing small/mobile plant machinery
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• A proactive and reliable approach to your work
• A full UK driving licence
