About the role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and highly motivated Inclusion Teaching Assistant to join the team at Claycots School. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential. Working closely with the SENCO, Class Teachers and wider Inclusion Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
As an Inclusion Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support for pupils with SEND and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping to translate individual targets into meaningful learning opportunities and effective classroom support. You will build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues, adapting learning activities and implementing specialist strategies to meet individual needs. The role requires patience, resilience and a genuine commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every child feels valued, safe and able to succeed.
You will contribute to the development and review of support programmes, attend Annual Reviews, work alongside teachers to adapt learning, and support pupils' personal, social and emotional development. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of SEND, an awareness of EHCP processes, and a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
At Claycots School, we are deeply committed to investing in our people. We provide high-quality professional development and ongoing training opportunities, including specialist SEND training tailored to the needs of the children you support. Whether you are looking to develop your expertise in inclusion or build a long-term career within education, you will be supported to grow and succeed as part of an organisation recognised with Gold Investors in People status.
We also recognise the importance of staff wellbeing. Employees have access to YuLife, an innovative wellbeing and life insurance platform that rewards healthy habits and supports physical, mental and financial wellbeing. Alongside this, staff benefit from an Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders, discounted lunches, modern teaching facilities, refurbished staffrooms, free on-site parking and a welcoming, supportive staff community.
This role would suit an individual who is passionate about inclusion, believes that every child can succeed, and is committed to creating opportunities for children with additional needs to flourish. If you are enthusiastic, caring and ready to have a meaningful impact on children's lives every day, we would love to hear from you.
