Personal Care Assisant - Primary SEND School - Band 2

As our school continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a caring, reliable and committed Personal Care Assistant to join our Ashdale (Ashington) team as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will provide personal and intimate care, including nappy changing, for a range of children with additional needs. This role is not classroom based; however, you will work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure children’s dignity, comfort, wellbeing and safety are maintained at all times.

The Role

• Supporting children with intimate and personal care needs, including nappy changing
• Promoting children’s dignity, independence and wellbeing
• Working with children across Early Years and Key Stage 1 with Social and Communication needs
• Following individual care plans, health and safety procedures, and safeguarding guidance
• Liaising effectively with staff and contributing to a supportive team environment

Experience of working with young children and/or children with additional needs is desirable. A good understanding of child development and a calm, compassionate approach are essential.
