Project Data Analyst

Morson Edge are currently seeking a Project Data Analyst to work on the behalf of one of our reputable Aerospace clients based in Yeovil, Somerset. This is a contract for initially 6 months.

The purpose of the Project Data Analyst is to provide accurate review of large data packs and consolidate into intuitive and user-friendly front-end interfaces that allows simple manipulation of the data to give various desired outputs at a summary level with the ability to drill down thereafter. The primary focus of the initial tasking will be to produce a costing model by review of various different aircraft kits of parts known as the Bill of Material (BoM). The review will require you to ensure the correct components are included in the BoM and that all costs associated with the parts are re-validated to a 2026 price. You will work in both project and product environments giving you exposure to a wide and varied group of people across the business and whilst you will report to the Experimental Operations Manager, there will also be a need to work closely alongside the Industrial Operations team with the UK. This is essentially a new role, that has the potential to grow into a permanent position within the business for the right person and output required.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Review and manipulate large data packages.
- Create front end interfaces to those data packages that allows the business to review the data at a summary level.
- Be available - work with all of the Operations team and other teams around the business to develop and continuously improve the accuracy of your outputs ensuring best practice and customer satisfaction.
- Attend regular update meetings for your nominated projects to ensure you are aware of overall progress and how your effort adds value to this.
- Be prepared to be flexible and undertake any other reasonable tasks that your manager requests.
- Be prepared to travel nationally and internationally on an occasional basis with appropriate notice.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- You will need to be competent at managing and presenting large amounts of data in Excel.
- Ability to breakdown data into manageable and understandable chunks to give summary level views.
- No particular qualifications are required - we are interested in your data manipulation skills
- Experience working with SAP is desirable as many of the data sources will be pulled from this application.
- The ability to use Power BI (or similar) is essential. Power BI is the standard package currently used to produce the front-end interfaces for the data manipulation.
- Experience of aircraft build philosophies will be useful, although this is not essential.
- A basic financial awareness will be useful in building cost models - in particular basic cost escalations calculations from year to year and potential algorithms that could be adopted to indicate economies of scale (production through-put and volumes).
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and a working knowledge of SAP will be very beneficial.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to discuss your output at local internal meetings.
