About the role
The Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference to the green spaces people enjoy every day? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Greenspace team and help shape, improve and deliver projects across North Hertfordshire’s parks and open spaces. From supporting improvements to play areas, sports facilities and community spaces, to helping deliver wider environmental and accessibility projects, you will play an important role in making our outdoor spaces welcoming, sustainable and enjoyable for residents and visitors.
The Experience you will bring
You will be organised, proactive and confident managing projects from concept through to delivery. You will be able to balance competing priorities, work well with a range of stakeholders and keep projects moving forward. A strong interest in improving parks and green spaces is essential. Experience in project management, procurement, local government or a similar setting would be desirable, although we welcome applicants with transferable skills and a genuine enthusiasm for the role.

We are changing
North Herts Council (NHC) is undergoing Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). If you are employed by NHC on 1 April 2028, it is expected that the majority of roles will transfer to the newly-created unitary councils on existing terms and conditions under TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings – Protection of Employment) principles.
LGR is one of the biggest changes in local government we will face in a generation. It will reshape how we work and how services are organised and gives us a real opportunity to build something better.
