I&C Junior/Intermediate Design Engineer

Location: Tiverton, Ontario (100% on-site)
Per Diem: Available for eligible candidates
Pay Rate: $55–$70/hour

Duration: One-year contract with the potential for annual extensions

Morson Edge is seeking Junior/Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Design Engineers to support a major nuclear project. The successful candidates will work alongside experienced engineering professionals to support the design and modification of nuclear plant systems.

Previous experience working with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) or Bruce Power is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and review of I&C designs for nuclear plant systems and modifications
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations, drawings and engineering documentation
• Review schematics, wiring diagrams, control logic and instrumentation documents
• Assist with equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Ensure engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards and client requirements
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, project and site teams
• Provide technical support throughout the design and project lifecycle
• Participate in design reviews and help resolve technical issues

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation or a related engineering discipline
• 1+ years I&C engineering or design experience, preferably within the nuclear industry
• Previous OPG or Bruce Power experience is required
• Familiarity with nuclear engineering processes, design documentation and plant-modification requirements
• Strong analytical, technical writing and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• P.Eng. designation in Ontario is an asset
