About the role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their Design Services Team, leading the delivery of highway and civil engineering schemes across Cheshire.
Working on a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £5 million, including cycle improvement schemes, junction upgrades and public realm projects, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, high-quality and compliant engineering solutions that enhance local communities and infrastructure.
As a Senior Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, oversee project delivery from concept through to completion, and support the development of engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis of complex engineering challenges and develop effective, compliant solutions.
- Deliver high standards of professional and technical excellence across highway engineering projects.
- Manage the design, planning, programming and delivery of multidisciplinary schemes.
- Monitor project performance, ensuring budgets, programmes and quality targets are achieved.
- Provide professional advice and technical guidance to councillors, stakeholders and members of the public.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors and external partners to successfully deliver programmes of work.
- Support the Team Leader and deputise when required.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, helping to build technical capability within the team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Demonstrable experience in highway design and associated legislation.
- Strong knowledge of highway law, procedures and standards.
- Experience working with Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience managing project costs, programmes and delivery performance.
- A full UK driving licence.
