School Cleaner

Job Description

A well‑presented, community‑focused school in the Handsworth is looking for a reliable, hard‑working Cleaner to help maintain a safe, tidy, and hygienic learning environment. This role suits someone with good attention to detail who takes pride in keeping classrooms and shared spaces clean and ready for pupils.

This role is to start ASAP up until at least December 2026.

 Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces
• Emptying bins and managing waste safely
• Replenishing hygiene supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet roll)
• Reporting maintenance or safety issues to the Site Manager
• Using cleaning equipment safely and storing it correctly
• Working independently and following a set cleaning schedule

 What the School Needs

• Previous cleaning experience (school or commercial helpful)
• Good understanding of hygiene and safety procedures
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently during set hours
• A friendly, positive, and professional attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
