The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Clinical Oncology Consultant to support a service at Kent and Canterbury Hospital in South East England.

This locum opportunity offers a structured Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 working pattern with no on-call commitments, commencing ASAP. The initial assignment is expected to run for a minimum of 12 weeks, with the potential to extend depending on substantive recruitment outcomes.

The successful candidate will join an established oncology team, providing specialist clinical oncology support with a particular focus on urological cancers. The role requires experience in the management of urology tumour sites, including systemic anti-cancer therapies and radiotherapy treatment planning.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver specialist Clinical Oncology care for patients with urological malignancies
• Conduct outpatient oncology clinics and follow-up appointments
• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions
• Undertake treatment planning activities for radiotherapy services
• Prescribe and oversee systemic anti-cancer therapies where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with oncology colleagues, specialist nurses, radiographers, pharmacists, and wider MDT members
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Support safe, effective, and patient-centred oncology services

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Oncology, or eligibility for entry
• Recent NHS experience at Consultant level
• Experience managing urological cancers
• Competence in delivering and overseeing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments for urology tumour sites
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and multidisciplinary working skills
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
