We’re recruiting for an experienced and compassionate EHCP Coordinator to join a specialist Learning Support team within a thriving education setting. The Role
As EHCP Coordinator, you will act as the lead professional for a caseload of students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and High Needs funding. You will play a vital role in ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed, whilst coordinating annual reviews, supporting transitions and working collaboratively with families, staff and external agencies.
This is a varied position that combines student advocacy, relationship building, administration, coordination and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
EHCP & Annual Review Coordination
Manage a caseload of students with EHCPs and High Needs funding.
Coordinate and chair annual review meetings.
Ensure all statutory documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales.
Gather and coordinate contributions from students, parents, teaching staff and external professionals.
Produce high-quality review documentation and reports.
Provide guidance and support to colleagues regarding EHCP processes and responsibilities.
Offer cover for other EHCP Coordinators when required.
Student Support & Advocacy
Develop and coordinate personalised support plans for students.
Monitor that support outlined within EHCPs is being effectively delivered.
Review and monitor progress against EHCP outcomes and learning targets.
Work closely with curriculum teams, support staff and families to ensure students achieve positive outcomes.
Act as a key point of contact for parents, carers and external agencies.
Multi-Agency Working
Liaise with local authorities and external professionals including therapists, specialist services and careers advisers.
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings and reviews.
Support applications and evidence gathering for High Needs funding and EHCP requests.
Help ensure students can access appropriate careers advice, work experience opportunities and progression pathways.
Transition Support
Support learners moving into and within the organisation.
Attend school reviews and transition meetings where appropriate.
Coordinate bespoke transition arrangements for students with EHCPs and High Needs.
Ensure students receive the appropriate support during enrolment, induction and progression stages.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
✅ English and Maths at Level 2 (or equivalent)
✅ Qualification relating to Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
✅ Experience working within education, SEND or learning support environments
✅ Experience supporting young people and/or adults with additional needs
✅ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✅ Confident working with a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, carers and external agencies
✅ Strong organisational and administrative skills
✅ Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365
✅ Ability to advocate effectively for students and champion inclusive practice
