The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the HS2 A43 Project on a freelance basis. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of key civil engineering works, with a particular focus on Earthworks and Drainage packages.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure project and play a key role in delivering works to programme, quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of Earthworks and Drainage operations.
- Coordination of subcontractors, plant, labour and materials.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements.
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to the Project Management Team.
- Conducting site inspections and maintaining quality standards.
- Managing RAMS, permits and site documentation.
- Liaising with engineers, supervisors, clients and stakeholders.
- Driving health, safety and environmental compliance across all activities.
- Supporting commercial and operational teams with progress and delivery updates.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in Earthworks and Drainage works.
- Experience working on HS2 or other large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Valid SMSTS.
- CSCS Card.
- First Aid at Work.
- Temporary Works knowledge advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple work fronts safely and effectively.
Desirable
- Biosite Induction already completed.
- Previous experience within the HS2 supply chain.
- NRSWA Supervisor and CAT & Genny qualifications beneficial.
