About the role
School Attendance Officer
First for Education is seeking an organised, professional, and proactive School Attendance Officer to join a busy and well-structured school office in Saltley, supporting the effective day-to-day running of the school.
This is a part-time, long-term position, working as part of an established administrative team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The role will involve supporting front-of-house operations, administrative processes, data management, pupil attendance monitoring, and accurate record keeping.
The school has a strong operational structure and a collaborative office team, making it an excellent opportunity for an experienced School Administrator, Attendance Officer, or professional with strong transferable administrative skills.

School Administrator Role Requirements
- Previous experience in a school office, attendance, education, or administrative role
- Experience using systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or similar school management systems
- Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and deadlines effectively
- Professional, approachable, and solution-focused manner
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
The Successful School Attendance Officer Will
- Provide professional front-of-house support, including answering calls and greeting visitors
- Manage school communications, including emails, correspondence, and enquiries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pupil and staff records
- Support daily attendance tracking, monitoring, reporting, and data management
- Assist with general school administration and office-based duties
- Work closely with school leadership, teaching staff, pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, compliance, and high standards of administrative practice at all times
