About the role
Work Pattern: 8:30 am till 5pm, 37 hours a week (Mon – Fri)
PAYE Pay Rate: £400 – £500 per day
Job Purpose
To lead, coordinate and manage the business of the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, ensuring effective multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across Cheshire East. The role will support strategic partners to reduce risks to children and young people and promote consistent, high-quality safeguarding practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, subgroups and task-and-finish groups.
- Coordinate agendas, meetings, reports, action plans and partnership communications.
- Ensure effective governance, scrutiny, information sharing and statutory compliance.
- Lead and coordinate safeguarding reviews, learning reviews and serious case reviews.
- Manage the development of business plans, annual reports, audits and statutory returns, including Section 11 and Section 175/157.
- Ensure learning from reviews is shared and embedded across partner agencies.
- Build effective relationships with local authority, police, health, education and other partner organizations.
- Keep senior partners informed of changes to legislation, government guidance, research and safeguarding policy.
- Coordinate multi-agency safeguarding training and identify learning and development needs.
- Ensure the voices of children, young people, parents and careers inform safeguarding arrangements.
- Manage allocated budgets and provide financial monitoring and reports.
- Provide leadership and management to relevant staff, including supervision, performance management and development.
- Represent the Safeguarding Partnership at local, regional and national meetings and networks.
- Promote continuous improvement, best practice and a strong multi-agency safeguarding culture.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in children’s safeguarding and multi-agency partnership working.
- Experience of working strategically with senior professionals across multiple agencies.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and governance arrangements.
- Experience coordinating safeguarding reviews, audits, learning reviews or similar improvement activity.
- Excellent report writing, communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of managing projects, budgets and/or staff.
- Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear professional advice to senior leaders.
- Commitment to ensuring the voice and experiences of children and families influence safeguarding practice.
- Enhanced DBS required
