5303469 – Safeguarding Children’s Partnership Business Manager

Work Pattern: 8:30 am till 5pm, 37 hours a week (Mon – Fri)

PAYE Pay Rate: £400 – £500 per day

Job Purpose

To lead, coordinate and manage the business of the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, ensuring effective multi-agency safeguarding arrangements across Cheshire East. The role will support strategic partners to reduce risks to children and young people and promote consistent, high-quality safeguarding practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, subgroups and task-and-finish groups.
• Coordinate agendas, meetings, reports, action plans and partnership communications.
• Ensure effective governance, scrutiny, information sharing and statutory compliance.
• Lead and coordinate safeguarding reviews, learning reviews and serious case reviews.
• Manage the development of business plans, annual reports, audits and statutory returns, including Section 11 and Section 175/157.
• Ensure learning from reviews is shared and embedded across partner agencies.
• Build effective relationships with local authority, police, health, education and other partner organizations.
• Keep senior partners informed of changes to legislation, government guidance, research and safeguarding policy.
• Coordinate multi-agency safeguarding training and identify learning and development needs.
• Ensure the voices of children, young people, parents and careers inform safeguarding arrangements.
• Manage allocated budgets and provide financial monitoring and reports.
• Provide leadership and management to relevant staff, including supervision, performance management and development.
• Represent the Safeguarding Partnership at local, regional and national meetings and networks.
• Promote continuous improvement, best practice and a strong multi-agency safeguarding culture.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Significant experience in children’s safeguarding and multi-agency partnership working.
• Experience of working strategically with senior professionals across multiple agencies.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and governance arrangements.
• Experience coordinating safeguarding reviews, audits, learning reviews or similar improvement activity.
• Excellent report writing, communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience of managing projects, budgets and/or staff.
• Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear professional advice to senior leaders.
• Commitment to ensuring the voice and experiences of children and families influence safeguarding practice.
• Enhanced DBS required
