Interim Finance manager

Interim Finance Manager/Project Accountant - c.£300 per day 

We are supporting a manufacturing business in Stockton, Teesside. They require an experienced Interim Finance Manager / Project Accountant to provide hands-on support during the stabilisation phase, ensuring finance processes are embedded effectively while maintaining strong day-to-day financial control.

This is a highly visible role, ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and working across both finance operations and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the finance team through post-implementation stabilisation of a new ERP / finance system
• Act as a key liaison between finance and systems teams to resolve issues, improve workflows, and optimise reporting
• Take ownership of aspects of the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
• Identify and implement process improvements following the system change
• Assist with reconciliations, data integrity checks, and financial reporting outputs
• Provide hands-on support across the finance function as required
• Help upskill the team on new processes and system usage

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in an interim finance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong exposure to finance systems implementations (ERP preferred) and post-go-live support
• Comfortable working at both a strategic and operational level
• Highly hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved in the detail
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system and process issues
• Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally
