Consultant Cardiologist - On Call
Locum Consultant Cardiologist required for on-call weekend cover at Altnagelvin Hospital, Western Health and Social Care Trust. £100/hr assignment rate.
The Cardiology department at Altnagelvin Hospital is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiologist to provide on-call cover from Friday 26th September 2026 at 17:00 through to Monday 28th September 2026 at 09:00.
The post holder will provide senior cardiology decision-making, respond to acute cardiac presentations, and provide specialist input to the Emergency Department and acute medical teams over the weekend. This is an on-call commitment requiring availability throughout the weekend period.
Essential requirements:
- Must have HSE Encompass training
- Currently working in an Emergency Department or with at least 4 months ED experience
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Cardiology
- Valid GMC registration with licence to practise
- Right to work in the UK
- Up-to-date AccessNI clearance (DBS does not suffice for Northern Ireland)
- Up-to-date CV and two recent references relating to the specialty and grade
- Professional indemnity insurance
