About the role
Admin Officer
Location: Cambridge CB1-1BT Monday- Friday 9am-5pm Pay rate: £12.86ph

You'll be the friendly, reliable point of contact-supporting users to navigate the justice process and ensuring day-to-day court administration runs smoothly.
What you'll be doing:
* Undertaking administrative tasks to prepare for, facilitate, and help complete hearing activity
* Providing support and signposting users and stakeholders via face-to-face, telephone (incoming and outbound), and correspondence in a range of formats
* Using service scripts and knowledge articles to give clear, consistent, and specific information-especially to users with complex needs
* Following complaints policies and procedures, responding promptly to help prevent escalation, and keeping records updated as required
* Processing work accurately using standard operating procedures to meet performance targets and maintain service standards
* Handling case files with careful data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention and data loss protocols
* Managing jury service administration, including selection, deferral, reassignment, attendance tracking, and processing related expenses and court fees
* Assisting with listing and scheduling to support efficient use of judicial time and responsiveness to urgent matters
* Supporting enforcement processes, including financial assessments, fine collection assistance, and producing basic statistical/financial reports
* Helping with health and safety operations, including facility checks, issue logging, and supporting key/safety governance under guidance

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear guidance and reassurance
* Confidence handling sensitive information with accuracy and discretion
* A structured, process-led approach to admin work-while staying flexible to urgent demands
* Empathy and patience when supporting people with specific and complex needs
* Strong attention to detail, particularly for record keeping and compliance
Additional information:
* You'll also identify risks relating to HMCTS buildings and escalate to the Senior Person on Site (SPoS) where required.
