Job description:

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Editor II to drive our digital books and spoken-word strategy. In this role, you will take full ownership of our storefronts for either the Spanish and Italian markets, or the Polish market. As an all-genre specialist, you will bridge the gap between commercial trends and diverse, representative programming, ensuring our listeners connect with the exact stories they are looking for.

If you have a solid grounding in books editorial or bookselling, hands-on experience with digital content, and a deep understanding of your regional publishing landscape, we want you on our team.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Storefront: Take full ownership of the digital storefronts for your respective markets (Spain/Italy or Poland), acting as an all-genre expert who understands listener needs across every category.
  • Drive Editorial Strategy: Develop, curate, and manage a high-priority set of editorial programs and campaigns.
  • Create Compelling Copy: Write, review, and tag content for forward-facing editorial programs and internal communications.
  • Build Publisher Relationships: Assess publisher-suggested titles, propose editorial-led promotions based on cultural trendspotting, and maintain strong ties with regional publishers.
  • Leverage Data & Culture: Use quantitative performance metrics alongside qualitative cultural insights to continuously refine our editorial lens.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with regional cross-functional teams and the wider global Editorial team to share insights and champion books.
  • Champion the Brand (Optional): Build a public editorial presence by attending book festivals, conventions, publisher previews, and cultural events.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience editing, curating, or merchandising content at a digital-first platform, a publishing house, or a major books retailer.
  • Language & Market Fluency: Native or professional bilingual fluency in Spanish and Italian (with a priority on Spanish) OR fluency in Polish, alongside strong English communication skills.
  • Cultural Awareness: A deep empathy for your market's pop culture and publishing landscape, allowing you to curate resonant stories and quickly identify the right authors, series, and titles for any situation.
  • Digital Merchandising Skills: Proven ability to tag content, curate complex storefronts, and manage digital audio/book campaigns simultaneously.
  • Analytical Mindset: Comfort using both quantitative and qualitative data to inform and defend editorial decisions.
  • Inclusive Curation: A track record of building and implementing diverse recommendations that reflect a broad range of cultures, people, and perspectives.
  • Organizational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage tight editorial schedules across multiple regional markets.
  • Bonus Points: Proven relationship-building skills within the publishing industry and a deep enthusiasm for the evolution of audio and spoken-word content.

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience in digital merchandising and your specific market expertise (Spain/Italy or Poland). Share a recent campaign, editorial program, or storefront curation project you are particularly proud of.

Please apply with a copy of your CV or send it to Prasanna . merugu @ randstaddigital . com and let's start the conversation!
