BRAKE PRESS SECOND MAN – GOVAN, GLASGOW G51

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Brake Press Second Man – Govan, Glasgow G51 to join our well-established client based in Govan, Glasgow G51.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £13.00 per hour, Monday to Friday daytime hours, an early Friday finish, ongoing work and full training and development for the right candidate.

£13.00 PER HOUR | MONDAY TO FRIDAY | EARLY FRIDAY FINISH | FULL TRAINING | ONGOING WORK

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Brake Press Operative, Press Brake Operator, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Operative, Engineering Operative, Metal Fabrication Operative or CNC Machine Operator.

Previous brake press experience would be advantageous; however, you do not need to be an experienced Brake Press Operator to be considered. Full training and development will be provided for candidates with suitable machine operating, engineering or manufacturing experience.

Shifts

 • Monday to Thursday – 08:00 to 16:45
 • Friday – 08:00 to 14:30

 • £13.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Brake Press Second Man, your duties will include:

 • Supporting the operation of CNC hydraulic press brake machinery
 • Working from engineering drawings and production information
 • Selecting appropriate tooling and bending methods
 • Producing accurate folded metal components
 • Checking finished components using measuring equipment
 • Making machine adjustments where required
 • Carrying out basic machine checks
 • Supporting general production and fabrication duties
 • Following all site health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

 • Previous machine operating experience within manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or a similar environment
 • Experience working with industrial production machinery
 • Practical and mechanically minded approach
 • Good attention to detail
 • Understanding of quality standards
 • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
 • Reliable and hardworking attitude
 • Ability to work safely as part of a production team
 • Ability to reliably travel to Govan, Glasgow G51

Desirable Experience

 • Previous brake press or press brake experience
 • Experience reading engineering drawings
 • Experience working with sheet metal
 • CNC machinery experience
 • Experience using measuring equipment

Training Provided

 • Full training on CNC hydraulic press brake machinery
 • Role-specific training and development provided
 • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
