Remote in Italy

I'm working with an exciting international technology company that is expanding its engineering team in Ticino and looking for a Senior Software Engineer.

This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys distributed systems, architecture, and technical leadership.

What you'll be doing


Lead the design and evolution of large-scale distributed systems
Drive architecture decisions around scalability, performance, and maintainability
Own cross-team technical initiatives and influence engineering direction
Mentor engineers and raise standards around design, code quality, and operational excellence
Drive best practices across software design, testing, and observability
Take ownership of critical features and services from concept through production


What you bring


Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or extensive equivalent professional experience
Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, strong software engineering background
Strong experience with Golang, C++ or Ruby
Strong knowledge of system design, algorithms and data structures
Experience with modern backend architectures, APIs and service-oriented systems
Strong automated testing experience, including TDD, BDD and integration testing
JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience is a plus
Fluent English; Italian is a plus


This role can be offered on a fully remote basis from Italy, so previous experience working successfully in a remote environment is required.
Please note: Candidates interested in relocating to Switzerland can also be considered and will receive a relocation allowance, provided they hold an EU passport. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
