Role: Trainee Gas Engineer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established contractor working within the private housing sector across East London and Essex. They are looking to appoint a motivated Trainee Gas Engineer with a solid plumbing background who is looking to develop a long-term career within domestic gas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or experienced plumber looking to take the next step into gas engineering, with training and development available to the right candidate.

The Role

As a Trainee Gas Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers while developing your practical knowledge and skills within domestic properties. You will receive on-the-job support and training as you work towards becoming a fully qualified Gas Engineer.

Your duties will include:

• Assisting with domestic gas servicing, repairs and installations

• Carrying out plumbing works within private residential properties

• Supporting qualified Gas Engineers on site

• Diagnosing basic plumbing and heating issues

• Learning safe working practices and gas regulations

• Maintaining high standards of customer service and workmanship

• Travelling between properties across East London and Essex

• Completing job sheets and other required documentation

About You

We are looking for someone who is genuinely committed to building a career in gas engineering.

Essential requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Plumber

• Good understanding of domestic plumbing systems

• Full UK driving licence

• Comfortable travelling throughout East London and Essex

• Professional and customer-focused approach

• Good communication skills

• Reliable, punctual and willing to learn

• Strong interest in progressing into domestic gas engineering

Previous heating experience would be advantageous, but full Gas qualifications are not essential, as this position is specifically designed for someone progressing from a plumbing background into gas engineering.
