About the role

Administrative Officer (AO) - Court Administration
Location: Derby Crown Court, Morledge, Derby DE1 2XE
* Full time, office based: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
* Pay: £13.25 per hour
* DBS level: Basic DBS (costs covered by the hiring process)
* Assignment: Until October initially, with the possibility of extension till March 2027
* Start date: ASAP (pending compliance checks)
What you'll be doing:
* Progress cases through the court/tribunal system in line with established guidelines
* Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally and handle stakeholder queries promptly
* Manage and respond to email correspondence, including support with shared inboxes
* Create, update and maintain accurate records and case files, entering data into internal systems
* Prepare and organise paperwork for hearings and meetings, including document scanning, filing and management
* Book and prepare meeting rooms and support day-to-day administrative needs across the court
What you'll bring:
* Previous administrative experience, ideally within a structured, process-driven environment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Confident communication and customer service skills-calm, clear and professional under pressure
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with strong document/data handling habits
* Ability to prioritise and manage a high-volume workload efficiently, with excellent organisation and time management
* Comfort working in a fast-paced office environment, maintaining professionalism while staying proactive
