We are currently recruiting for a Junior Design Engineer to join an established and growing engineering business based in Hereford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior engineer looking to develop their design and technical skills within a supportive engineering environment, working on a variety of customer projects.

The Role

Working closely with the Drawing Office / Design Manager and wider design team, you will support the production of technical drawings and assist with the design and development of projects from customer requirements through to manufacture.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing and amending technical drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.
  
  
• Supporting the design team with multiple customer projects.
  
  
• Liaising with customers regarding drawing requirements and general arrangements.
  
  
• Working with the design and production teams to resolve technical and drawing-related issues.
  
  
• Ensuring drawings are accurate and issued to production within agreed timescales.
  
  
• Assisting with design solutions and developing your technical knowledge.
  
  
• Managing drawing information using Autodesk Vault.
  
  
• Supporting the wider engineering team with general design and technical activities.
  
   
  
  

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience using CAD software, ideally Autodesk AutoCAD.
  
  
• An engineering qualification such as HNC/HND in Engineering would be advantageous.
  
  
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  
  
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  
  
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with customers and internal teams.
  
  
• A genuine interest in engineering and design.
  
  
• A willingness to learn and develop within a junior engineering role.
  
  

 

Desirable Experience

• Autodesk Vault.
  
  
• Revit/BIM and 3D drawing.
  
  
• Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  
  
• Knowledge of water storage tanks or similar engineered products.
