About the role

Cheetwood Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and nurturing team. The successful candidate will primarily work within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting high-quality learning through play, communication, and early development.

Our school ethos, “Learn Together, Grow Together,” underpins everything we do. We are proud of our pupil-led values, which guide our learning community: we encourage our children to be curious, hopeful, empowered, enthusiastic, tolerant, willing to try, optimistic, original and diverse. We are looking for a TA who will champion and model these values every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning within EYFS, helping children achieve their early developmental milestones.
  • Deliver small-group and 1:1 intervention as directed by class teachers.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that reflects our ethos and values.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Support behaviour management and uphold the school’s values and expectations.
  • Assist with assessment, observations, and recording of pupils’ progress.
  • Promote our values by encouraging learners to be curious, confident, resilient and open-minded.
  • Contribute to wider school life and work effectively as part of a committed team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • A Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or an equivalent Level 2 Award)
  • Has experience working within EYFS and a good understanding of child development.
  • Is adaptable, confident, and able to take initiative when working with pupils.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of all pupils.
  • Is positive, patient, proactive, and passionate about early education.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Embodies and models our school values, promoting curiosity, enthusiasm, optimism and respect for diversity.
  • Holds a current paediatric first aid qualification or has a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
