Finance Summer Internship

The Mizuho Finance team provides support to both Mizuho International plc (MHI) and Mizuho Bank, Ltd., London Branch (MHBK), working with a wide range of internal stakeholders including Senior Management, Head Office and business lines across the organisation.

What will I be doing?

Over the course of your 10-week internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the Finance Department, working alongside experienced professionals and gaining exposure to its specialist teams.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

• Financial Control – support published accounts, management reporting, external audit and business planning activities.
• Product Control / Product Accounting – assist with financial reporting and control activities, including balance sheet valuation, working closely with the business and Risk Management teams.
• Regulatory Reporting – contribute to the calculation, monitoring and reporting of regulatory capital and liquidity to Senior Management and regulatory bodies.
• Tax – gain exposure to tax policy, compliance and the management of the company’s tax affairs.
• Procurement & Accounts Payable – support the management of third-party expenditure, supplier relationships and the processing of non-trading cashflows.

You’ll rotate across the Finance teams, giving you broad exposure to the different areas of the function and an understanding of how Finance supports the wider business of a global investment bank.

What are we looking for?

You should:

• Be in your penultimate year of study, with an expected graduation in 2028 (please ensure this is clearly stated on your CV and updated on your GRB profile).
• Available to complete the 10-week internship starting in June 2027.
• Available for full-time employment from September 2028.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and motivated to learn about Finance within an investment banking environment.
• A strong communicator with good problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of accounting, regulatory reporting or financial services is an advantage, but not essential.
