Technical Business AnalystLocation: Newcastle upon Tyne – Hybrid, 3 days per week onsiteSalary: Up to £55,000 + BenefitsEmployment Type: PermanentClearance: BPSS & SC eligibility requiredWe are working with a leading global technology and transformation consultancy seeking Technical Business Analysts to join its growing Newcastle team.This is an opportunity to work across complex digital transformation and software delivery programmes, acting as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.You will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Testers, UX/UI Designers, DevOps Engineers and Solution Architects to understand business challenges, define requirements and ensure solutions deliver measurable business value.The RoleAs a Technical Business Analyst, you will:Gather, analyse and document complex business and technical requirements.Translate business needs into clear user stories, functional requirements and technical specifications.Create process flows, functional designs, business rules and supporting documentation.Conduct AS-IS / TO-BE analysis and assess the impact of proposed changes.Work closely with technical teams throughout the full software development lifecycle.Facilitate stakeholder workshops and requirements elicitation sessions.Support backlog refinement, sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies.Use SQL and data analysis to validate requirements, identify trends and investigate data quality issues.Support testing activities, including reviewing test scripts, defect triage and UAT.Identify and communicate technical constraints, risks and dependencies.Support business change, implementation and operational readiness activities.Work alongside Solution and Technical Architects to help shape effective solutions.What We’re Looking ForYou will ideally have 1.5–5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within a software delivery, technology, consulting or digital transformation environment.Strong experience across several of the following is required:Requirements gathering and elicitationUser stories and functional requirementsStakeholder management and workshop facilitationBusiness process mapping and modellingSQL and data analysisAgile methodologies including Scrum and/or KanbanJIRA and ConfluenceUML and/or BPMNUAT and software testingAPIs, databases and system integration conceptsBusiness change and impact assessmentsWorking with cross-functional technology teamsExperience with AWS, Azure, Salesforce, GenAI or other enterprise platforms would be advantageous.Previous experience delivering projects within the Public Sector and/or working within a consulting environment would also be beneficial.A recognised Business Analysis qualification or certification would be advantageous but is not essential.What's On OfferSalary up to £55,000Comprehensive benefits package25 days' annual leavePrivate medical insuranceAdditional volunteering leaveExcellent training and professional developmentExposure to large-scale digital transformation programmesClear long-term career progressionHybrid working – 3 days per week onsite in NewcastleSecurity ClearanceDue to the nature of the projects, successful candidates must be eligible to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance.This requires 5 years' continuous UK address history, typically including no periods of 30 consecutive days or more spent outside the UK, at the point of application.If you're a Business Analyst with a strong technical grounding looking to work on complex transformation programmes within a major consultancy environment, we'd be keen to hear from you.
