Quantity Surveyor

This excellent opportunity is for a Quantity Surveyor at a range of career levels, from newly qualified to experienced Senior QS, with the chance to take on genuine responsibility across pricing, procurement, cost control, and commercial management.

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing, successful construction business based in Norfolk, who are seeking a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join their team. 

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will:

• Price and estimate construction projects
• Prepare tenders, quotations and detailed cost estimates
• Review drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Carry out quantity take-offs
• Obtain and assess subcontractor quotations
• Negotiate prices and terms with subcontractors
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing
• Manage procurement and subcontractor costs
• Monitor project budgets and financial performance
• Manage variations, valuations and final accounts
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Work closely with management, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
• Maintain accurate commercial records and cost reports
• Support improvements to estimating and commercial processes as the business continues to grow

Quantity Surveyor requirements:

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Strong pricing and estimating experience
• Proven experience dealing and negotiating with subcontractors
• Experience negotiating with suppliers
• Good understanding of construction costs and commercial principles
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project profitability
• Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification desirable
