About the role
Job summary
The role of the Transaction Execution team is to project manage Complex Structured Real Estate lending transactions from Credit Approval through to completion. This will require working closely with borrowers, lender counterparties, legal advisors, valuers, monitoring surveyors, senior leadership and key internal stakeholders to drive transactions from initial term sheet through to completion, ensuring transactions are progressed in an efficient and concise manner.
This team has the appetite and resources to shape the future of housing investment in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose, whilst applying robust governance processes around capital allocation.
We will do this through the various interventions the National Housing Bank will offer including Loans, Equity, Lending Alliances and Guarantees products. These leverage wider investment to achieve outcomes that are a significant multiple of the Agency’s participation.
Job description
Working in a team with transaction execution specialists, focussing on Complex Real Estate transactions (both structured real estate and infrastructure lending), the Senior Manager will primarily manage and coordinate complex real estate development loan transactions through the documentation and due diligence phase, from the point loans are credit approved to loan completion and hand over to Portfolio Management. You will be a key member of a recently established team aimed at owning the contracting process, improving efficiency and using a commercial approach to lead on challenging real estate financing transactions.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in shaping our delivery processes, systematically improving the way we conduct due diligence and execute contracts. Working with Borrowers, internal stakeholders and Loans’ colleagues, you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective execution of Development Finance projects post-approval, followed by a streamlined handover to Portfolio Management.
We value diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within our teams, and therefore welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.
Person specification
You are able to navigate complex legal, financial and operational aspects of real estate lending. You have a commercial mind set, enjoy problem solving, have strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver positive outcomes on complex debt transactions.
You have strong project management skills and can manage deadlines and work under pressure.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and proficient in managing stakeholders at all levels and your discussions will always be framed by a detailed understanding of the commercial and operational impacts of what we do as a wider Loans team.
You will thrive on developing new ways of working as you seek out efficiencies , working in a collaborative way to contribute to the achievement of your team’s ambitious goals.
