The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Band 5 Dental Nurse to join a leading NHS Trust in the South West of England.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary dental team, you will support dentists and specialists in delivering high-quality dental care across a variety of clinical settings. What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide chairside assistance during a wide range of dental and oral surgery procedures.

  • Prepare, clean and maintain dental surgeries and equipment to the highest infection prevention and control standards.

  • Decontaminate, sterilise and manage dental instruments in accordance with HTM 01-05 guidance.

  • Support clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care across outpatient, community and specialist dental services.

  • Reassure and support patients throughout their treatment, promoting a positive patient experience.

  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic clinical systems.

  • Assist with radiography procedures where appropriately trained and authorised.

  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, ordering clinical supplies as required.

  • Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, therapists, consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Adhere to all Trust policies, safeguarding procedures, clinical governance and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must:

  • Hold the National Diploma in Dental Nursing (NEBDN) or an equivalent recognised qualification.

  • Be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Dental Nurse.

  • Have recent experience working within an NHS dental service, community dental service, hospital dental department or general dental practice.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and patient care skills.

  • Have a sound understanding of cross-infection control, decontamination procedures and current dental regulations.

  • Be confident working within a busy clinical environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Be familiar with electronic patient record systems.

  • Meet all required NHS compliance standards, including occupational health and mandatory training.

  • Have the right to work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
