The Opportunity 

We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon to support an NHS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery service. 

This opportunity offers an ongoing locum assignment within a busy specialist department, providing the chance to work alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams delivering high-quality oral and maxillofacial surgical care. The role is ideal for Consultants seeking a stable, long-term locum opportunity within an established NHS service. 

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery services, managing a varied caseload across outpatient, inpatient and surgical settings while working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Setting: NHS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Service 

Contract Type: Locum Opportunity 

Start Date: ASAP 

Duration: Until 31/12/2026 

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 

Pay: Competitive rates 

Pay Method: LTD or PAYE 

Registration Requirements: Must hold both GMC and GDC registration 

What You'll Be Doing 

• Deliver Consultant-led Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery services within an NHS department  

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients requiring oral and maxillofacial surgical treatment  

• Undertake outpatient clinics, inpatient reviews and operative procedures as required  

• Provide expert clinical leadership and support to the wider multidisciplinary team  

• Work collaboratively with Dental, ENT, Anaesthetic and Surgical colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care  

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards  

• Contribute to the safe, effective and efficient delivery of Oral & Maxillofacial services  

• Support service development and clinical governance activities where appropriate  

What We're Looking For 

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise  

• Full GDC registration  

• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (or eligibility where appropriate)  

• Recent UK NHS Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery experience  

• Excellent clinical judgement, communication and leadership skills  

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team  

• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
