The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced SAS Doctor in Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry to support a Mental Health Inpatient Service in the South East.

This opportunity offers a 12-week locum contract, working a structured Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm rota, providing consistent work within an acute inpatient mental health environment. It is well suited to candidates with experience in adult acute inpatient psychiatry, who are confident working within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of patient care.

You will be working alongside established clinical teams, supporting day-to-day service delivery and contributing to safe, effective patient care on Daisy Ward.

What You'll Be Doing

• Conduct ward reviews and patient assessments.
• Participate in clinical meetings and multidisciplinary team (MDT) reviews.
• Review and manage patients under the direction of the Consultant Psychiatrist and wider clinical team.
• Support day-to-day inpatient psychiatric service delivery.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing staff, and the wider MDT.
• Identify, escalate, and manage clinical concerns appropriately.
• Contribute to a safe, effective, and recovery-focused inpatient environment.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Recent UK experience within Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry.
• Previous experience working within an inpatient mental health setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Minimum of two recent professional references.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
