The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Adult Psychiatry Consultant to support a Mental Health Service in Wales.

This opportunity offers a long-term locum contract with a Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm schedule, providing structured and consistent work within a mental health care setting. It is well suited to candidates with experience in Adult Psychiatry, who are confident working in demanding clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care.

You will be working alongside established clinical teams, supporting day-to-day service delivery and contributing to safe, effective patient care.

• Additional Notes: Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician (AC) Status are essential requirements for this role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality psychiatric care within your scope of practice in a mental health setting.
• Support day-to-day clinical operations, contributing to effective service delivery.
• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and patient reviews in line with local protocols and best practice.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Identify and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and well-functioning clinical environment.

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Relevant recent UK experience within Adult Psychiatry.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism.
• Role-specific requirements: Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician (AC) Status.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
