The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant in Diabetes & Endocrinology to support a service in the North West.

This opportunity offers a locum contract with a structured Monday to Thursday working pattern and no GIM on-call commitments, providing an excellent work-life balance within a supportive hospital environment.

The role is well suited to an experienced Consultant with expertise in Diabetes & Endocrinology, who is confident managing both outpatient and inpatient services while working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

You will be working alongside established clinical teams, supporting service delivery across diabetes and endocrine pathways, including clinics, foot MDTs, inpatient referrals, Advice & Guidance (A&G), and referral triage.

PA Breakdown

• Diabetes Foot MDT Clinic + Administration – 1.25 PA
• Endocrine Clinic + Administration – 1.50 PA
• Diabetes Foot Ward Round + A&G – 1.00 PA
• General Diabetes Clinic + Administration – 1.25 PA
• Split Inpatient Referrals – 1.75 PA
• Additional General Diabetes Clinic – 1.25 PA

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality Consultant-led care within Diabetes & Endocrinology services
• Manage outpatient endocrine and diabetes clinics
• Participate in Diabetes Foot MDT clinics and ward rounds
• Provide Advice & Guidance (A&G) and support referral triage processes
• Review and manage inpatient diabetes and endocrine referrals
• Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses, podiatrists, AHPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
• Identify and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
• Support safe, effective, and patient-centred service delivery

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise
• CCT (or equivalent) in Diabetes & Endocrinology
• Relevant recent NHS Consultant experience
• Experience working within diabetes MDT and endocrine services
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
