The Opportunity

We are currently seeking experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to support NHS services across South West England.

This temporary locum opportunity offers flexible working within busy and dynamic healthcare settings, including Urgent Treatment Centres, Minor Injuries Units and community services. The role is ideally suited to autonomous practitioners who are confident assessing, diagnosing and treating patients presenting with a range of minor illnesses and injuries.

Candidates must hold an independent prescribing qualification and be confident managing patients independently within their scope of practice.

You will join established multidisciplinary teams, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while supporting the efficient operation of urgent and primary care services.

What You'll Be Doing

• Independently assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with minor illnesses and injuries.
• Prescribe medications safely and effectively in line with local policies and national guidelines.
• Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Request, interpret and act upon diagnostic investigations where appropriate.
• Refer patients to specialist services and secondary care when required.
• Provide health promotion, advice and patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and patient-focused care.

What We're Looking For

• Active NMC registration.
• Current Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification.
• Independent Prescribing qualification (V300) – essential.
• Relevant recent UK experience working as an ANP within the NHS.
• Experience in urgent care, primary care, urgent treatment centres or minor injuries units.
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
