The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to support an NHS Community Mental Health service for Working Age Adults in Surrey.

This temporary opportunity offers a structured Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 working pattern for a minimum of three months, providing consistent weekday hours within a well-established community mental health team. It is ideally suited to experienced community mental health nurses who are confident managing complex caseloads while delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care.

You will be working alongside an established multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with mental health needs within the community and contributing to safe, effective and person-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage a community caseload of working-age adults with mental health needs
  • Undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and risk assessments
  • Develop, implement and review person-centred care plans
  • Coordinate care and work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Support service users to achieve positive recovery outcomes within the community
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and contribute to maintaining safe, effective community services

What We're Looking For

  • Active NMC registration
  • Recent UK Community Mental Health Nursing experience
  • Experience working within a Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Strong assessment, risk management and care coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team
  • Strong clinical judgement, communication and professionalism
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
