The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Consultant Psychiatrist (CAMHS Getting More Help / CAMHS Rapid Response Crisis Team) to support a service in the South East.

This opportunity offers a locum contract within a 9:00am–5:00pm working pattern, providing structured and consistent work within a specialist CAMHS crisis service. It is particularly well suited to experienced CAMHS Consultants, ideally those with previous experience working within a CAMHS Crisis Team or Rapid Response Service.

You will be working alongside an established multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and consultant-level expertise to support children and young people experiencing acute mental health difficulties and crises.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide consultant-level psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and young people presenting in crisis.
• Deliver four full clinical days of cover within the CAMHS Rapid Response/Crisis Team.
• Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop appropriate management plans.
• Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team.
• Work collaboratively with mental health professionals, social care teams, education services, and community partners.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
• Support safe, effective, and responsive service delivery for children, young people, and their families.

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or eligibility for inclusion).
• Significant recent experience within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
• Previous experience working within a CAMHS Crisis Team or equivalent urgent mental health service is highly desirable.
• Excellent clinical judgement, leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to an established clinical team.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
