The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist with a specialist interest in Bone Health to support services in the North West.

This locum opportunity sits within the Ageing & Complex Care Division of Medicine and offers a structured Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 working pattern with no on-call commitments.

The successful candidate will primarily deliver care within the Bone Health Clinic, assessing and managing patients with osteoporosis and other bone health conditions. There is also an opportunity to undertake Elderly Medicine ward work for clinicians seeking a combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

You will be working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams, supporting high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of specialist services within a leading NHS Trust.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver specialist care within the Bone Health Clinic.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with bone health conditions.
• Provide expert clinical input in accordance with NHS best practice.
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and wider multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Contribute to service delivery within the Ageing & Complex Care Division.
• Undertake Elderly Medicine ward work where appropriate and agreed.
• Support safe, effective, and patient-centred care across the service.

What We're Looking For

• GMC registration with licence to practise.
• Consultant-level experience in Rheumatology.
• Demonstrable experience and interest in Bone Health.
• Recent NHS experience at the required grade and specialty.
• Full compliance documentation available at the time of submission.
• Confirmed availability for the full assignment period and shift pattern.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism.
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship).
