The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Palliative Care Consultant to support a service in North West England.
This locum opportunity offers a structured part-week placement within a palliative care setting. The role is well suited to consultants with specialist experience in Palliative Medicine, who are confident working across inpatient, hospice, and community environments while maintaining high standards of patient care.
You will work alongside established multidisciplinary teams, supporting the delivery of specialist palliative care services and contributing to safe, compassionate, patient-centred care.

- Shift Pattern:
- Tuesday AM – Hospice inpatient MDT and ward round
- Tuesday PM – Community visits, hospital reviews and administration
- Friday AM – Community visits, hospital reviews and administration
- Friday PM – Hospice board round and ward reviews
- Pay Method: PAYE
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver specialist palliative medicine assessment and management for patients with complex and life-limiting conditions
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and board rounds
- Provide expert clinical advice to healthcare professionals involved in patient care
- Review patients across community, inpatient, and hospice settings
- Support advance care planning and symptom management
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and patient-focused clinical environment
Requirements
- Active GMC registration
- Consultant-level experience in Palliative Medicine
- Relevant recent UK experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
- Must complete DCS training prior to commencing work
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
