The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Consultant Radiologist with Breast Imaging expertise to support a service in the East of England.
This 8-week locum opportunity offers a 40-hour per week (10 PA) job plan, providing structured and consistent work within a busy NHS radiology department. The role is ideally suited to candidates with substantial experience in breast imaging, reporting, and image-guided procedures, alongside general radiology reporting responsibilities.
You will work alongside established multidisciplinary teams, supporting service delivery across breast imaging and general radiology while contributing to high-quality patient care and clinical excellence.

- Deliver high-quality diagnostic radiology services in line with NHS standards and local protocols
- Undertake breast imaging reporting and clinical sessions
- Perform breast imaging procedures, including aspirations and biopsies
- Provide general CT and radiology reporting
- Participate in duty radiologist sessions
- Support vetting and patient administration activities
- Contribute to ED and inpatient imaging reporting requirements
- Work collaboratively with consultants, clinicians, nurses, and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support teaching, supervision, and development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practise
- FRCR or equivalent qualification
- CCT in Radiology (or equivalent), Specialist Register status, or within 6 months of CCT attainment
- Significant UK NHS experience within Radiology
- Expertise in diagnostic breast imaging
- Ability to undertake breast imaging procedures including aspirations and biopsies
- Excellent communication, analytical, and clinical decision-making skills
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to clinical governance and high standards of patient care
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
- Higher qualification such as MD or PhD
- Research, audit, or quality improvement experience
- Publications in recognised radiology journals
- Experience teaching and supervising clinicians in training
