The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Paediatrician.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant Paediatrician to join an established Paediatrics service and provide high-quality clinical care to children and young people across the Trust.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective paediatric services throughout the assignment, including participation in the on-call rota.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level Paediatric services across the Trust.
The role will include:
- Assessment and management of paediatric patients
- Providing Consultant-level clinical decision-making and advice
- Managing acute and general Paediatric presentations
- Participation in the Consultant on-call rota
- Supporting inpatient and outpatient Paediatric services as required
- Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and wider multidisciplinary colleagues
- Supporting junior medical staff where required
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Contributing to clinical governance and service improvement activities
- Ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centred care
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Paediatrics, or relevant experience for a locum appointment
- Previous NHS Consultant-level Paediatrics experience
- Broad experience in general Paediatric medicine
- Experience managing acute Paediatric presentations
- Ability to participate effectively in Consultant on-call duties
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within an NHS Paediatric department
- Experience across a broad range of Paediatric specialties
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
