The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Obstetrics & Gynaecology service, providing specialist care to women across a broad range of clinical presentations while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Trust's Obstetrics & Gynaecology department, helping to maintain high standards of patient care throughout the assignment, with the potential for further extension.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecology services, contributing to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of patients across the service.
The post may include:
- Specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecology outpatient clinics
- Assessment and management of obstetric and gynaecological patients
- Inpatient and emergency care as required
- Participation in theatre and procedural activity where appropriate
- Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Contribution to the on-call and emergency rota where required
- Clinical decision-making and treatment planning
- Collaboration with midwifery, nursing and wider multidisciplinary colleagues
- Clinical governance and service improvement activities
- Supporting junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues where required
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, or relevant experience for a locum appointment
- Previous NHS Consultant-level Obstetrics & Gynaecology experience
- Strong clinical experience across Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, leadership and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within an NHS Trust in the UK
- Experience of service development and quality improvement initiatives
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Clinical audit or research experience
- Experience across a broad range of Obstetrics & Gynaecology subspecialties
