The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Consultant Haematologist to support the Haematology service in the South West England, within Cancer Services. This fixed-term locum opportunity runs from 1 September 2026 to 26 February 2027 and offers the chance to work within an established specialist haematology team. The role is ideally suited to experienced consultants who hold MRCPath and CCT in Haematology, and who are confident delivering high-quality patient care within a busy hospital environment. The successful candidate will contribute to inpatient and outpatient haematology services while working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support excellent patient outcomes. Some on-call and weekend commitments will be required, with the exact rota to be confirmed. Key Details

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver specialist haematology care across inpatient and outpatient services
• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of haematology patients
• Support the day-to-day delivery of the Haematology service within Cancer Services
• Participate in consultant-led multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical decision-making
• Work collaboratively with consultants, junior doctors, nursing teams, AHPs, and wider healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with NHS standards
• Participate in on-call and weekend services as required
• Contribute to maintaining safe, effective, and patient-centred care pathways

What We're Looking For

• Full GMC registration
• MRCPath qualification
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Haematology or recognised equivalent
• Relevant recent UK Consultant-level Haematology experience
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
