The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant Anaesthetist to join an established anaesthetic service and provide high-quality clinical care across the Trust.
The successful candidate will support the department throughout the assignment, working as part of a multidisciplinary team and helping to maintain safe and effective patient care.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level anaesthetic services within the Trust.
The role will include:
- Providing Consultant-level anaesthetic care
- Pre-operative assessment and optimisation of patients
- Delivering safe and effective anaesthesia for surgical procedures
- Post-operative patient management
- Working collaboratively with surgical, nursing and wider multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting the day-to-day delivery of the Anaesthetics service
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Contributing to clinical governance and patient safety
- Providing clinical leadership and support to junior medical staff where required
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Anaesthetics, or relevant experience for a locum appointment
- Previous NHS Consultant Anaesthetist experience
- Strong clinical experience within Anaesthetics
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient-centred care
- Availability to work a minimum of 4 days per week
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working within an NHS Trust
- Experience across a broad range of anaesthetic specialties
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Experience of clinical audit, governance or service improvement initiatives
