The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Registrar in Emergency Medicine (A&E).
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Emergency Medicine doctor to join an established NHS Emergency Department and provide high-quality clinical care in a busy and supportive environment.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Emergency Medicine team, assessing and managing patients presenting to the Emergency Department and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide Registrar-level Emergency Medicine services within the Trust's Emergency Department.
The role will include:
- Providing high-quality clinical care to patients presenting to A&E
- Assessing, diagnosing and managing a broad range of emergency presentations
- Working across day, night and on-call shifts as part of the full rota
- Managing acutely unwell and critically ill patients appropriately
- Requesting and interpreting relevant investigations
- Initiating appropriate treatment and management plans
- Working closely with Consultants and the wider Emergency Medicine team
- Liaising with other specialties and referring patients where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Supporting safe and effective patient flow through the Emergency Department
- Participating in clinical handovers and multidisciplinary working
- Maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient safety
- Supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Appropriate Emergency Medicine experience at Registrar level
- Previous NHS Emergency Department experience
- Strong experience managing a broad range of acute and emergency presentations
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy A&E environment
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred emergency care
- Availability to participate in a full rota including days, nights and on-call shifts
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience within a busy NHS Emergency Department
- Relevant Emergency Medicine training and qualifications
- Experience managing critically ill or complex emergency patients
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
