The Opportunity

We are supporting an NHS Trust in the East of England with the appointment of a Locum Consultant in Plastic Surgery/Dermatology.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant to join an established clinical service and provide high-quality specialist care across Plastic Surgery and Dermatology clinics.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting the Trust's clinical workload and contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient and patient-centred services.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level Plastic Surgery/Dermatology services within the Trust.

The role will include:

  • Providing Consultant-level specialist clinical services
  • Conducting Plastic Surgery and Dermatology clinics
  • Assessing, diagnosing and managing patients appropriately
  • Providing specialist clinical advice to referring clinicians and colleagues
  • Developing and reviewing appropriate patient management plans
  • Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Supporting safe and patient-centred clinical pathways
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient safety
  • Contributing to service improvement activities where required
  • Supporting junior medical staff and colleagues where appropriate

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Appropriate specialist registration or relevant experience for the locum appointment
  • Previous NHS Consultant-level experience
  • Relevant experience in Plastic Surgery and/or Dermatology
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Availability to work Monday to Sunday, 09:00–16:30

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience working within an NHS Plastic Surgery or Dermatology service
  • Broad experience across relevant outpatient clinical services
  • Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
  • Teaching and supervision experience
