The Programme
We are currently supporting workforce planning for an anticipated Diagnostic Endoscopy Insourcing Programme, delivering additional diagnostic capacity within an established independent healthcare provider supporting NHS-commissioned services.
You will become part of a structured, clinically governed insourcing programme, working alongside experienced Diagnostic Endoscopists, Endoscopy Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team to support safe, efficient diagnostic endoscopy services.
We are seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) with relevant endoscopy experience who are interested in supporting programme-based clinical delivery.
The programme will initially focus primarily on diagnostic gastroscopy (OGD), with additional diagnostic colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy activity expected as mobilisation progresses.

- Schedule: Up to four operating days per week (Monday to Saturday, subject to the agreed programme schedule)
- Anticipated Start: September 2026
- Programme Duration: Approximately two months (initial phase)
- Engagement: Regular programme sessions

- Additional Information: Structured diagnostic endoscopy lists delivered within an established endoscopy service
What You'll Be Doing
Depending on your experience and competencies, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting the safe delivery of diagnostic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy procedures
- Assisting clinicians and registered professionals during endoscopy lists
- Preparing procedure rooms, equipment and consumables
- Supporting patient preparation, transfer and positioning
- Assisting with patient observations and recovery under the supervision of registered clinicians, where appropriate
- Maintaining high standards of infection prevention, cleanliness and equipment readiness
- Working within local governance procedures, clinical protocols and departmental policies
- Supporting efficient patient flow and the smooth running of endoscopy sessions
What We're Looking For
Applicants should have:
- Recent UK endoscopy experience as a Healthcare Assistant
- Experience supporting diagnostic endoscopy procedures
- Experience working within an endoscopy unit or diagnostic endoscopy service
- Strong communication and team working skills
- A professional approach with a commitment to high standards of patient care
- Ability to work within structured, session-based clinical delivery models
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
Particularly Desirable
We would be particularly interested in HCAs who can demonstrate:
- Experience supporting diagnostic gastroscopy (OGD)
- Experience supporting diagnostic colonoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Procedure room support experience
- Experience working within JAG-accredited endoscopy services
- JETS Workforce competencies or equivalent evidence, where applicable
- Availability to support regular sessions throughout the planned programme
