The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Rheumatology Consultant to support a service in Scotland.

This locum opportunity is based within a busy acute hospital setting and is available ASAP to 24 December 2026 minimum due to a vacant post. You will be joining an established Rheumatology department, supporting the delivery of specialist care while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver high-quality Rheumatology care across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of rheumatological conditions
  • Participate in clinics, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, specialist nurses, allied health professionals, and the wider clinical team
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
  • Support safe and effective patient care while contributing to service delivery objectives
  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and follow local governance procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Active GMC registration
  • CCT in Rheumatology (or equivalent specialist qualification)
  • Relevant recent UK NHS experience at Consultant level
  • Strong communication, clinical judgement, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
