The Opportunity
We are supporting an NHS Trust with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in Gynaecological Oncology.
This locum Consultant position offers the opportunity to join an established Oncology service, providing specialist care for patients with gynaecological cancers while working within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality cancer services.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the Trust's Oncology department, helping to maintain excellent patient care during an extended locum assignment, with the potential for further extension.

The Role
The successful candidate will provide specialist Oncology services with a focus on the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of patients with gynaecological malignancies.
The post includes:
- Specialist outpatient oncology clinics
- Assessment and management of patients with gynaecological cancers
- Development and delivery of systemic anti-cancer treatment plans where appropriate
- Participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
- Treatment planning and patient reviews
- Collaboration with surgical, radiology, pathology and palliative care colleagues
- Clinical governance and service improvement activities
- Supporting junior medical staff and multidisciplinary colleagues where required
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology (or equivalent relevant experience for locum appointment)
- Previous NHS Consultant Oncology experience
- Specialist experience in Gynaecological Oncology
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred cancer care
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within UK cancer networks
- Participation in service development and quality improvement initiatives
- Teaching and supervision experience
- Research activity or clinical audit experience
