The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Specialty Doctor in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry to support a Community Learning Disabilities Service in the North West.
This opportunity offers a locum contract with a structured placement within a community-based Learning Disabilities service, providing consistent work within a multidisciplinary environment. It is well suited to candidates with experience in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry, who are confident managing complex cases while maintaining high standards of patient care.
You will be working alongside established clinical teams, supporting day-to-day service delivery and contributing to safe, effective patient care across the community.

What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality psychiatric care within a community Learning Disabilities service
- Support day-to-day clinical operations, contributing to effective service delivery
- Carry out psychiatric assessments and formulate treatment and management plans in line with best practice
- Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards
- Participate in patient reviews, care planning, and risk assessments
- Conduct community visits and attend clinics as required
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, effective, and well-functioning clinical environment
What We're Looking For
- Active GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Relevant recent UK experience within Learning Disabilities Psychiatry
- Minimum 2 years' experience at Specialty Doctor level
- Minimum 6 months' recent Learning Disabilities Psychiatry experience
- Ability to work both independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
- Community experience and willingness to travel to patients' homes
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
- Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
